I am an Assistant Professor at Leiden University College (LUC) in the Hague, and I am also an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Environmental Sciences (CML) of Leiden University. I lead the interdisciplinary initiative Decision Engineering for SustaInability and REsilience (DESIRE).

My research focuses on development of Decision Support Systems (DSSs) for materials, processes, energy systems and technologies assessment. My areas of research and expertise include:
Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis/Aiding (MCDA)
Sustainability, resilience and risk assessment
Problem structuring and stakeholder preferences’ elicitation
Creation of multidisciplinary research networks
My teaching is directly fuelled by my research activities, and it includes:
Decision analysis in energy systems
Sustainability as a global challenge
Energy and resource management
Statistics
In addition, I have been and am involved in various lecturing, tutoring, and seminar activities at several universities, among which ETH Zurich, London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Twente University, the University of Warwick in the UK, and the University of Cincinnati.
